Hello. I'm Ted Schurter, a visual journalist.
I spent years documenting storytelling moments everywhere from the sidelines to the statehouse at a mid-sized, midwestern daily newspaper. I also collaborated with other editors to plan and shape content in print and online.
I love the power of still and moving images to convey emotion and information, and bear witness to our common humanity.
Lately I've spent more time clicking keys than shutter buttons. Charts, maps and interactives are all great story-telling vehicles. Communicating clearly with data, images and words, and distilling complex topics into understandable ideas is a challenge I enjoy.
I'm open to new projects and opportunities. Send me an note and we'll talk.
